Curacao has a tropical climate with pleasantly cooling north-east trade winds. This means lots of sun and little rain. The average annual temperature is 27.5 ºC. The sea temperature is very warm with an average of 26.8 ºC.
Curacao is about 444 square kilometers large. The length of the island is about 61 km and the width is 5 to 14 km.
If you really want to get the most out of your stay on the island we would like to advise you to rent a car. The Beach House works with reliable car rental companies who offer great rates. You can choose to pick up the car at the airport or at The Beach House. Please contact us at reservations@beachhousecuracao.com for additional information.
The currency on Curacao is the Antillean guilder (ANG. or NAfl.), also called florins. The exchange rate is pegged to the U.S. dollar. The dollar is a legally recognized currency in Curacao as well. The change is then, however, usually given in Antillean guilders. Credit cards are accepted in most places - especially well known cards such as Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Curacao is located in the Atlantic time zone (GMT -4), which in winter is 5 hours earlier than The Netherlands. Once the summer starts in The Netherlands (last Sunday of March) the time difference is 6 hours. This lasts until late October when the winter in The Netherlands begins.
