CLIMATE
Curaçao has a tropical climate with pleasant, cooling northeast trade winds. This means plenty of sunshine and little rain. The average annual temperature is 27.5 °C (81.5 °F). The sea temperature is very warm, averaging 26.8 °C (80.2 °F).
LANGUAGE
Curaçao has three official languages: Papiamentu, Dutch, and English. The local language, mostly spoken by locals, is Papiamentu. The language originated during the times of slavery, through the interaction of people from different backgrounds. This resulted in a mix of African languages, Spanish, Dutch, French, Portuguese, English, and Arawak.
CURRENCY
The currency used in Curaçao is the Netherlands Antillean guilder (ANG), also known as the Florin. The exchange rate is pegged to the US dollar: $1 dollar is approximately equal to ANG 1.80. US dollars are widely accepted throughout Curaçao, and most places accept credit cards.
